The model is Le tour de France par deux enfants which was published in France after the loss of Alsace-Lorraine to Germany (1871). The French book had a strong patriotic tone and was a huge success. Given the political situation of Ottoman Armenians, it is understandable why this kind of book could appeal to them.)
